Since we can’t have our normal Cask Tasting event this year we decided to join forces with our sister winery, Debonne Vineyards and Marianne’s Chocolates (Ashtabula, OH) for an amazing mouth watering experience. Visit both wineries any time during the month of September and purchase the Cask Tasting.
The Cask project began as an idea in 2010 to have a continual red blend from the Grand River Valley.
Each year a percentage of the wine is bottled and sold to make room for the next year’s harvest. The date on the bottle represents the year the project began “10″ and the year it was bottled “20″.
Each winery uses a different 500 gallon oak barrel with vinifera grapes from their farm. Tasting includes a sample of Cask 1019 & the new release of Cask 1020 plus a chocolate.
Debonné Vineyards French Oak Cask is paired with Dark Chocolate Cherry Cordials.
Grand River Cellars Hungarian Oak Cask is paired with Mexican Chocolate Fudge. The experience is worth the drive.
